A Message from the Crime Victims' Ombudsman
The welfare of crime victims and their relationships with the criminal justice systems and organizations is crucial. (CVO) strictly follows the mandate set forth in establishing this office. It is essential that we maintain effective communication between the crime victims, with agencies and organizations that provide direct victim services. These relationships are vital to us in resolving victims’ concerns. The Office of Victim Services Education and Certification (OVSEC) is one effort I see is beginning to assist in coordinating training and education efforts to inform the community about the issues related to crime victims, and laws for the justice system are mandated to follow. There have been and will be some changes to the victim service provider (VSP) application process.
As ombudsman, I look forward to continuing the duties to assist the citizens of this state. If I or my office can be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions and/or concerns.
