The goal of the Office of the Ombudsman is to satisfactorily resolve or appropriately refer virtually any question, concern or request a citizen might have.
An Ombudsman...
- Is an appointed official who assists citizens with government issues, citizen concerns, questions, and complaints
- Acts as a facilitator in helping citizens get in touch with the proper agency that can address their needs
- Serves as an advocate for constituents
- Identifies and eliminates service deficiencies
- Continuously seeks to improve the delivery of State services to the citizens of that State
- Listens to problems and concerns and does his or her best to help in a resolution
