The goal of the Office of the Ombudsman is to satisfactorily resolve or appropriately refer virtually any question, concern or request a citizen might have.

An Ombudsman...

  • Is an appointed official who assists citizens with government issues, citizen concerns, questions, and complaints
  • Acts as a facilitator in helping citizens get in touch with the proper agency that can address their needs
  • Serves as an advocate for constituents
  • Identifies and eliminates service deficiencies
  • Continuously seeks to improve the delivery of State services to the citizens of that State
  • Listens to problems and concerns and does his or her best to help in a resolution
